Silver: a story thousands of years old, now flowing through our hands.
Silver has always fascinated us.
There is something in its light that speaks of mystery, of moonlight, of night.
And it’s no coincidence that this precious metal has accompanied humanity for thousands of years — like an invisible thread connecting ancient civilizations and modern hands.
A thread… that today, in our workshop, is called Akaiito.
🏺 From antiquity to the present day
The first silver objects date back almost 5,000 years.
The Sumerians, Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans knew it well:
they used it for coins, ritual goblets, ornaments, and sacred offerings.
It was a symbol of purity, the moon, and intuition.
Over the centuries, it passed from hand to hand — from emperors to merchants, from artisans to poets.
But pure silver, as beautiful as it is, is also fragile.
And this is where the story of 925 silver alloy begins.
⚒️ The birth of the 925 alloy
At some point, to make silver more durable, people began mixing in a small amount of copper.
The result was sterling silver — an alloy made of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% copper.
The name “sterling” came from medieval England,
where this composition became the standard for making coins and jewelry.
And still today, it’s the most widely used silver for crafting strong, workable, living jewelry.
🔥 Our alloy: a modern ritual
In our small workshop, we also create our own 925 alloy by hand.
We weigh every fragment of recycled silver, melt it with care,
and then add just the right touch of copper — enough to give it strength, but not to steal its light.
It’s a simple gesture, but full of meaning.
As if we were saying:
“We give you new life — with respect for what you’ve been and for what you will become.”
We don’t use big machines or industrial castings.
Just fire, patience, and the will to shape something that will last.
💍 The silver we speak
Every time we work on a piece, we think about the hands that will wear it.
Sometimes we leave it polished.
Other times we oxidize it, to highlight its details.
But always — always — we leave behind traces of life, of fire, of fingertips, of hammer.
Because to us, silver is not just a metal.
It is a voice that crosses centuries,
that has spoken to kings and farmers, to travelers and lovers.
And maybe now, it wants to speak to you too.
Thank you for listening to it with us.
Thank you for choosing something that isn’t mass-produced —
but made by hand, each time different.
Just like you.
